Good morning from the Quiet Lakes, warm weather this weekend with temps topping out in the 60s.  We have good chances of rain on Monday, Thursday and Friday.  The rain will be much needed this spring as the ponds and lakes are way down.  Temps look to stay in the 40s, 50s and 60s throughout the week so that should do a number on the remaining ice.  I don’t think any lakes are safe to fish at this point, but a few of the lakes still have some large sheets of ice yet.

Anglers should really start to focus on the open water season as it is approaching fast.  Anglers may get out to panfish before fishing opener, but it won’t be much before that.  My guess for ice out on the bigger lakes is still around Easter.  Anglers could fish streams and rivers right now for trout, but I am not a good source for much on that other than to throw small inline spinners.  Rooster tails and small Mepps would be what I would throw.  I wish I could give advice on fly fishing, but I have never done it and honestly don’t even know where to start!

That is all I have for this week’s report.  Really nothing going on right now, we are in that odd transition time waiting for open water.  Have a great weekend and we will talk soon.
