Good morning, this weather is absolutely ruining our chances for a good ice fishing/snowmobile season. It rained on and off most of the day yesterday and we look to have daytime temps above freezing for the foreseeable future. Only chances of precipitation are of rain or rain/snow mixes on Christmas day.
Fishing has been ok, but going to be sketchy and dangerous out on the ice. We had about 3-4″ on most of the lakes, but this warm up and rain have to be thinning it quick. MAKE SURE TO CHECK ICE!!!!!
Most anglers are using tip-ups for walleye and jigging a little bit for crappie but that’s about it. It sounds like most fish are in shallow or on that edge from shallow to the basin. Walleye folks are using walleye suckers or shiners under the tip-ups and anglers are waxies on jigs for the crappie.
That is all I got for this week, dismal at best! Have a great weekend and we will talk soon.
