Good morning from the Quiet Lakes, winter has arrived quickly and with force!  Current temperatures are 2 degrees fahrenheit and topping out at 15 degrees today.  I don’t see temps getting above the 20s for at least the extended forecast, and lows look to be in single digits or the teens.  We have very little chances of significant snow at this time as well, which is actually a good thing for the short term as it is going to allow ice to build quickly on the lakes!

With all of that being said, there will be no “fishing” report for this week, although there may be a few anglers
tempting fate and setting up some shallow water tip ups to get that first hardwater bite of the year.  Some lakes do have ice on them, but nowhere near safe enough to travel or fish any spots other than shallow bays protected from the wind.

Reports have been pretty slow in the woods as well.  I know some nice bucks were harvested on opening weekend, but it sounds like it has been pretty quiet overall.  Hopefully next week we may have enough ice to get a measurement out there and give some updates that way.  Have a great weekend and we will talk soon.
